Tavria Ukrainian Folk Dance Ensemble Dance Bingo Credit System

1. Purpose 

The Tavria Ukrainian Folk Dance Ensemble uses a bingo credit system to help families offset eligible dancer-related expenses. Credits are earned by volunteering at bingo events and may be applied only toward SLGA-approved cultural and travel expenses. 

Credits are not transferable and not redeemable for cash. 

If a dancer withdraws, credits will remain in the family account for a period of one (1) year. Any unused credits after that period remain with the Tavria Ukrainian Folk Dance Ensemble Charitable Gaming Proceeds bank account. 

2. Eligible Uses of Credits (Dancers Only) 

Credits may be used only for the dancer-specific expenses listed below. These fall under SLGA’s Cultural Programs category and Travel – Within/Outside Saskatchewan (outside SK requires prior SLGA approval). 

A. Eligible Cultural Program Costs 

● Registration fees, instructor fees, choreography fees 

● Costume rental fees 

● Festival participation entry fees 

● Dance workshops, clinics, and training sessions 

B. Eligible Travel Costs 

(Travel within Saskatchewan is eligible; travel outside Saskatchewan requires SLGA pre-approval.) When booked by Tavria, credits may be applied to: 

● Direct-route transportation 

● Accommodations during the event 

● Meals during the event period 

● Festival/conference registration fees

3. How Credits Are Earned 

● Credit is earned by working additional bingos 

● Credits accumulate in a family account 

4. How Families Redeem Credits 

Families must submit a Credit Redemption Request that includes: 

● Dancer name 

● Eligible expense category (registration, costume, festival, travel, workshop) 

Tavria will verify that the expense meets SLGA eligibility criteria. 

Credits are then applied directly to the approved expense and will not be paid out as cash.
