RHYTHMS OF UKRAINE: TAVRIA'S 50-YEAR CELEBRATION OF DANCE

Saturday June 21st - 7pm

Tavria proudly presents Rhythms of Ukraine - A celebration marking 50 years of performance, culture, and community all connected by a love of Ukrainian dance, at the Regina Performing Arts Centre Saturday June 21st at 7pm.

This production features a cast of 28 Academy & Tavrianka 2 dancers. They are performing reimagined classics & new choreography in this two-part show

The show will take the audience on a journey through the diverse regions of Ukraine. Each dance tells a story — one of resilience, celebration, and the spirit of the Ukrainian people.

Joining the dancers in this production is the Tavria Orchestra, under the direction of Vlad Tsymbal. With their dynamic live accompaniment and featured musical sections, the orchestra brings a rich depth to the production. You will watch dynamic sets and vibrant costumes transform the stage into a living canvas.

Rhythms of Ukraine is more than a performance — it's a tribute to five decades of community, culture, and dance.
Don’t miss this journey through sound, colour, and motion as Tavria honours its past and dances into its future.

FESTIVAL VOLUNTEER SIGNUP SHEETS

As our Festival approaches, we are excited to begin gathering volunteers. A festival of this scale requires many volunteer hours, and we rely on the support of all families within the Tavria organization. Whether you are new to our community or have been with us for years, we ask that you contribute a few hours of your time over the four-day event.

We welcome not only parents but also grandparents, aunts, uncles, and other family members to volunteer. As outlined in our Handbook, each registered dancer is required to have someone complete one volunteer shift. If a shift is not completed, a fee of $100 will be charged.

We greatly appreciate your commitment to making this event a success.

We're using SignUp (the leading online SignUp and reminder tool) to organize our upcoming SignUps.

STUDIO USE AND ACCESS

Studio Use Policy Update
We would like to remind everyone of some general studio housekeeping and also inform you about the updated studio use policy.
If you arrive at the studio prior to an instructor or board member during regular practices and have access codes, please do not use them to enter the studio. Instructors aim to arrive at least 15 minutes before class, but they often come from their day jobs and manage parenting duties, which can lead to delays. We appreciate your understanding and patience, as safety and liability are our top priorities. Dancers should plan to arrive at the studio just a few minutes before their scheduled class time. If you’re bringing dancers to a later session, they only need to arrive shortly before their class begins. If dancers do arrive early, we kindly ask that parents stay to supervise.

IMPORTANT: The access codes for the studio have been changed. If you previously had access, please note that these codes have now changed, and prior codes will no longer work. Attempts to use previous codes could trigger the alarm.

Studio Booking and Access
For dancers who have opted to take part in additional dances, you are invited to reserve the studio to practice your routines. There is no fee for using the studio; however, you might consider hiring an instructor or apprentice for guidance and support. These arrangements are made through those individuals directly.

Booking Requests: To use the studio for extra dance practices, submit your booking requests a minimum of five days in advance using the form on the website. Late requests may not be accommodated.
Reservation Confirmation: Specify the times you wish to reserve the studio. Once your booking is approved, you will receive either an email confirmation or a calendar invite. If you do not receive confirmation, please do not assume your reservation is confirmed. Approval may take 3-4 days, as requests are generally reviewed from Monday to Thursday.
Supervision Requirements: A supervising adult or instructor must stay with the dancers in the studio. This is to ensure productive practice and safety. An instructor teaching a class in another studio cannot fulfill this role.
Guest Code: If we cannot provide direct access, a guest code will be issued for your booking. This code is exclusively for the supervising adult's use and should not be shared.

Thank you for following these guidelines. Failure to maintain cooperation of these guidelines may lead to a review of your access privileges and potential suspension of future bookings. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in maintaining a safe and secure environment for everyone using our studio.
