Tavria boasts two of the best artistic directors of Ukrainian dance in the world--Yuri Pats and Nina Pyrogova. Yuri and Nina come to us from Kyiv, Ukraine, and bring with them years of dance, ballet and choreographic experience. They have both been dancers, soloists and choreographers with the world famous Virsky Ukrainian Dance Ensemble of Ukraine.
Nina and Yuri not only instruct the performing ensemble, they also instruct the senior levels of the school. The many other instructors of the school classes are highly trained dancers. They ensure that their students enjoy themselves while learning the rich culture of Ukrainian dance.

Yuri Pats
Yuri has been a professional dancer since 1966, beginning as a ballet dancer in Leningrad and Kyiv. He danced with the world-famous Virsky Ukrainian National Dance Company, in Kyiv, Ukraine, for 14 years. Following that, Yuri was the Artistic Director and Head Ballet Master for the Nadzbruchanka Dance Company, of Ternopil, Ukraine, for 11 years. He was also the Head Choreography Specialist for the Centre of Fine Arts and the Artistic Director of the Veselka Dance Company, both of Kyiv, Ukraine.

Nina Pyrogova
Nina has been a professional dancer since 1966, performing as both a ballet and Ukrainian dancers with the world-famous Virsky Ukrainian National Dance Company, in Kyiv, Ukraine, for 21 years. She was the choreography instructor for the University of Sports and Culture, in Kyiv, for one year before becoming the Ballet Master for the Nadzbruchanka Dance Company, of Ternopil, Ukraine. In 1975 Nina was awarded the UNESCO Medal in Italy for her artistic dance and also received an award as a distinguished dance performer by the Ministry of Culture, in Ukraine. In 1980, Nina was recognized as a meritorious ballet artist by the Minister of Culture, in Ukraine, and was also distinguished as the State Honoured Artist of Ukraine by the Government of Ukraine.
